Boulder Swim Team offers training and coaching for swimmers in a competitive environment. Emphasis is placed on technical development in a fun and challenging setting. Swimmers engage in progressive, race-specific training and are given critical instruction at all levels of their swimming journey. Our goal is to provide individual stroke and race analysis within the framework of an incredible team culture that puts the long-term success of the athlete first.
Athletes are organized into four competitive groups. Predominantly, athletes will swim with like-aged swimmers. It’s our belief that the most important factor in a child’s development as a person and swimmer is the social support and engagement that comes with training with friends.
Coaches consider performance in the water, adherence to dryland protocols and nutrition, teammate and leadership qualities, general fit and focus when determining the best fit for each swimmer on the team.
Competitive Club swimming has two seasons: Short Course Yards (SCY) and Long Course Meters (LCM). The SCY season is September to March and the LCM season is April to July. All competitive team athletes are expected to compete in at least 5 meets per SCY and 2 meets per LCM (requirements vary by group).
